Our first meeting was fantastic, thank you all so much for your prayers. Joshua let both of us hold him and didn't show any stranger anxiety at all. His foster mom gave us an album of pictures, including the ones from his Dol (1st birthday). This is something I have been praying about for a while! We found out he chose the gavel indicating we may have a future judge or lawyer on our hands!!! We also have a picture of him at his dol with a famous Korean actress. I still have to find out who she is. Those moments of holding Joshua in my arms are among the best in my life. We also learned that his personality is very easy going and he has a gentle nature, though temper tantrums were mentioned. He likes going out in the stroller, but hates the car seat. I am so glad we are flying back into Tucson and not Phoenix. He is not afraid of much. He stops his actions in response to Andae (no), but if he thinks he is being chided for misbehavior, he crawls to another place to avoid being chided. :-) If he is told that he is going to go out, he goes to the hallway and sits and waits. I love him so much already!
He also has a foster sister that is also going home next week. I can't imagine how hard this must be for his foster mother. She was crying when she arrived and I could tell she didn't even want to look at me. Who could blame her, she has taken care of JoonSeo for 14 months and now she has to say good-bye to two babies in a week's time. My heart was literally breaking for her.
And now what you have been waiting for - pictures!
The last 3 were taken before our meeting. We had some time to kill - we arrived 3 hours early. :-)
Tomorrow we are meeting with the head of Eastern for a luncheon. We take custody of Joshua on Friday at 3pm!!!

Absolutely ecstatic for you! You will have a bond with that foster mom forever - an extended family!
Will be praying for that 3pm Friday moment and expecting to hear an absolute Alleluia chorus from the sky!
Hugs to you all!
So happy for you! He is so sweet! I bet you can't wait to have him in your arms forever. What a day that will be :)
You look radiant with him in your arms! So happy that your first meeting went well.
So so happy for you :) I love the pictures!! Can't wait for the next update!
SO, so happy that your first meeting went well. Had tears in my eyes when you described holding him for the first time. I'll be praying for your flight home and for his dear foster mom.
Seeing you with Joshua made my day!!! How awesome! Beyond excited for all of you! =)
I'm SO SO SO very HAPPY for you guys!!!!
It is so wonderful to finally see Joshua in your arms where he belongs!!! I am glad that all is going well for you and that your first meeting went so well! I love how your dress and your hubby's tie coordinate so well. :)
We are so happy and excited. Joshua is so cute and he looks very much at ease with both of you. God has prepared his heart just as He has prepared both of your hearts. We can't wait to see Joshua in person with his loving Mommy and Daddy. Love, Poppa and Meme.
I am crying looking at those sweet pictures with your son! I will be praying for his foster family though, as this has to be so hard on them, I can't imagine! So excited for you and so glad he's easy going and enjoying you two!!
I just (today) found your blog through a link on God's Faithfulness Through Infertility.....I am beyond thrilled for your family. As a newly adoptive mommy, I encourage you to love on your sweet baby boy the moment they place him in your arms and to journal as much as possible about the first few days, weeks and months.
Praying for your family!!!
How so very wonderful!!! Its so great that your first meeting went so well! Enjoy the rest of your time in that amazing country!
Love it! He sounds like such an amazing little boy and you two look wonderful - happy and glowing! So excited for you! I'm excited to see you 3 but trying not to wish away your time in Seoul - hope you're enjoying all of it! :)
Congratulations on meeting your sweet son. I'm thrilled the first meeting went so well! He is adorable. I'm so sad for his dear foster mother to say good bye to both babies :(
So glad your first meeting went so well! I know it's hard to see foster mom cry and think of her grief. I get choked up thinking about it. Wishing you the best with your transition!
I have been following your blog as we wait for our daughter to come home from Korea. I never sign in b/c I never seem to have the time to maintain a blog...and feel guilty just reading everyone elses. But this is too exciting not to post! I am so very happy for you... you look radiant holding your son. I remember the feeling so well with my son Max when he arrived three years ago. Finally being "mommy" after all the waiting is the BEST feeling in the world. Enjoy!
