One Month!

I am a few days late on this, but wanted to commemorate the day anyways. We have now been a family of three for one month. It is hard to believe. It still doesn't feel entirely real to me. I have this feeling that at any point I am going to be told "gig's up, but glad you enjoyed yourself." That probably sounds strange to a lot of people, but when you wait for a child as long as John and I did, it is a pretty common feeling. To celebrate, I thought I would finally post our airport pictures. One month ago (plus a few days), we stepped off the plane and began our lives together. We are beyond blessed to have JoonSeo as our son.

I do have a follow up to my last post on the sleep issues, which was really about grieving not sleep. The sleep struggles were really a symptom of the problem and not the underlying issue. I was actually very discouraged afterward and just had to take a break from blogging and being on the computer, not so much because of the responses I received here, but from some I received in other places where I had posted about our struggles. Then I kept wanting to post a follow up, but didn't want to post a response in haste before getting some perspective on everything. That said, things have improved quite a bit as Joshua has become a little more comfortable with us.

So glad to hear that things are improving!! I hope my advice was not hurtful or offensive. I have found with blogging that it can be a great place to get advice but you have to throw about 70 perc out the window because you know it won't work for your child. But that 30 perc is worth it! So if I give bad advice know that I'm trying to help and you have my permission to throw it out the window!

Glad to hear things are improving!!! Your journey is unique to you and no one knows your little boy as well as YOU!

I posted about some concerns with Isaac early on and remember feeling discouraged as well -- but I knew our story best!!
